FRACGP: Writing items for the Applied Knowledge Test (AKT) exam
This activity aims to introduce RACGP Fellow members to assessment in medical education, and provide instruction on how to write Items for the AKT. It will cover key assessment concepts and outline important elements to consider when writing Items for the AKT.
The ALM trains RACGP Fellow members on how to write items for use in the FRACGP exams, which assess the ability of a GP to practice in unsupervised clinical general practice. Regular training of writers ensures recent, relevant items are available to be used in the exam, and a bank of suitable Items to select from for each exam cycle.
